Why Hire a Professional Process Server?
Professional service helps reduce mistakes, improve documentation, and support proper handling of the assignment.
• Difficult or Avoiding Recipients
Some individuals are hard to reach, avoid contact, or do not respond to service attempts.
• Proper Service Procedures
Legal documents must be served correctly, and the method of service can affect how the case proceeds.

A professional process server provides service details and proof or affidavit documentation after completion, when applicable.
• Time-Sensitive Matters
Deadlines, hearing dates, and court schedules often require prompt and organized handling.

What’s Included With process serving
Each assignment includes professional field handling, documented attempts, client communication, and the appropriate completion records for the service performed.
Service Attempts
Up to three attempts are included with most standard process service assignments, unless different arrangements are made for the specific request.
Client Updates
Status information is provided after each attempt so the client knows what occurred and what to expect when additional attempts remain.
Time, Date & Location Photo Documentation
Clients receive supporting photographs from service attempts showing the date, time, and location when appropriate. These photos supplement the written attempt record and formal completion documentation.
Completion Documentation
After completion, the appropriate Proof of Service, affidavit, or other applicable documentation is prepared and provided to the client.

Service Options
Service timing depends on the urgency of the assignment, location, and availability. The timeframes below refer to the first service attempt.
24-36 hours
The first attempt is typically made within 2–3 days after the assignment is accepted and all required documents are received.
Within 24 hours
Rush assignments are prioritized, with the first attempt typically made within 24 hours after the assignment is accepted and ready for service.
3-5 hours
Same-day assignments must be received by 11:00 AM to be considered for service that day. Requests received after 11:00 AM will generally be scheduled for the following day. Same-day availability also depends on location, travel time, and current workload.
HOW CAN SERVICE BE COMPLETED?
The appropriate method of service depends on the documents, the party being served, the location, and the requirements that apply to the assignment. Some matters require personal delivery, while others may allow another lawful method when the applicable requirements have been met.
BayServe Legal reviews the instructions provided with each assignment before determining how service should be attempted.
Personal Service
The documents are delivered directly to the person named for service. When personal service is required, attempts are planned around the information available and the circumstances encountered at the location.
Substitute Service
When legally permitted and appropriate for the assignment, documents may be left with a qualifying person at the service location and any additional required steps are completed according to the applicable instructions and procedures.
BayServe Legal generally considers substitute service on the third attempt unless different instructions or requirements apply.
Business & Entity Service
Businesses, organizations, and other entities may require service on an authorized representative, registered agent, or other qualifying recipient. We review the entity and service instructions before attempting delivery.

Attempts may be adjusted to different days or times based on the information available, the type of location, and the remaining service opportunities.
Gated communities, secured buildings, businesses, and other restricted locations may require additional coordination, observation, or planning before contact can be made.
When ordinary attempts are not enough, additional options such as skip tracing or a stakeout may be considered based on the circumstances and the client’s instructions.
When an assignment requires additional planning or resources, BayServe Legal will communicate the available options and recommended next steps before moving forward. Remember, communication is key!
